Out of hours emergency

If your call is during the night or at the weekend whilst our practices are closed, please ring your normal surgery (HOLT 01263 713200 WELLS 01328 711022)  where your call will be redirected to the relevant out of hours service.

Please note: An out-of-hours consultation fee payable at the time of consultation will be charged. Please ask when you call for the current fee.

The Grove Veterinary Hospital will look after the out-of-hours service between 6:00pm and 8:30am weekdays excluding Bank holidays and midday on Saturday until 8:30am on Mondays.

From 1st October 2025 we will no longer be offering overnight veterinary care at our practice. This means that any in-patients requiring overnight monitoring or hospitalisation will need to be transferred to our current out of hours provider. We understand how important continuity of care is for your pets, and we work closely with The Grove Vets as our trusted partner because of their excellent facilities, experienced staff, and commitment to high standards of veterinary medicine. Our team will ensure that full clinical details are provided to maintain seamless care.

Transportation between practices is the responsibility of the owner to comply with insurance requirements. In-patients who are not stable enough to travel will be able to remain at The Grove Vets.

If your pet is transferred to The Grove, registered clients of Glaven Vets will be informed by the night vet at The Grove to collect their pet for discharge or to return it  to the Holt practice if ongoing day care is needed. The client is required to pay on collection. This will be the case for any patients we have transferred or that have been admitted through the out of hours service.

Inpatients who are not fit to travel can remain at The Grove Veterinary Hospital.

Direct claims can be processed through The Grove but this needs to be agreed between the client and The Grove.

Our systems and services will continue to be available during normal working hours at our Holt and Wells clinics, meaning you can rest assured there will be no disruption to your pet’s care.
